Elizabeth Forbes-Blom obtained a PhD in Medical Sciences (Australian National University) and completed her training at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center before returning home to New Zealand. She spent the next decade building and delivering a research program at the Malaghan Institute of Medical Research, by taking an immunological approach to health and disease to move our understanding beyond local immune responses in the gut to encompass the dynamic interplay between food, microbiota and the immune cellular networks within.

She then took the bold leap to put that dynamic interplay between nutrition, microbiota and immunity into action at Nestlé Research, and continues to develop and execute a research portfolio to unlock the power of food for lifelong health.
