Dr. Suzanne Li obtained her MD and PhD from Columbia University in New York, USA, and completed a pediatrics residency and pediatric rheumatology fellowship at New York-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital in NY. She is a Professor of Pediatrics at the Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital and the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine in New Jersey, and has held leadership positions in the Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance (CARRA), the North American based pediatric rheumatology collaborative research network, including as chair of the Rare Disease Committee, and co-leader of the Pediatric Scleroderma workgroup. Her research has focused on improving long-term outcome for patients with pediatric scleroderma, with a particular interest in developing tools needed for treatment studies. Current multicenter, international studies include developing high performing, universally applicable classification criteria for juvenile systemic sclerosis (jSSc), identifying a core set of outcome measures for the main organ manifestations of jSSc, and developing sensitive assessment tools for localized scleroderma.
