Dr. Jianxun Qi is a professor at the Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMCAS). He was selected as a leading talent in science and technology innovation in the national "Ten Thousand Talent Program" in 2021. Much of his work focused on the characterization of viruses and hosts interaction including Influenza virus, Coronavirus and Ebola virus by using structural biology and protein chemistry. Qi contributed the key information on the structural basis of virus receptor interaction including Influenza virus (H7N9, Science, 2013; H6N6, EMBO, 2016), MERS-CoV (Nature, 2013), SARS-CoV-2 (Cell, 2020; Cell 2022), Ebola Virus (Cell, 2016), Thogotovirus (PNAS, 2017), ASFV (PNAS, 2020), Coxsackievirus A10 (PNAS, 2020) and SFTSV (Nature Communication, 2023), with a cumulative citation of more than 19,000 and an H-index of 64. He won the first prize of the Beijing Science and Technology Award in 2011 and the first prize of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association Science and Technology Award in 2017. He was selected as a "Highly Cited Researcher" by Clarivate from 2021-2023, he was also selected for the World's Top 2% Scientists List released by Stanford University and Elsevier in 2023.
