Dr. Béziat holds a PhD in immunology from Marie Curie University (Paris, France). After a post-doctoral training at the Karolinska Institute (Stockholm, Sweden), he joined the Parisian Branch of the human genetics of infectious diseases (HGID) laboratory as an assistant Professor (Institut Imagine, Paris, France; Rockefeller University, NY, USA). Using conventional genetics, he discovered novel inborn errors of immunity underlying hyper-IgE syndrome (ZNF341, IL6ST, STAT6) and severe papillomavirus infection (CARMIL2, CD28, FLT3LG). Using reverse genetics, he discovered complete and partial PTCRA deficiencies, in patients with infections and autoimmunity. Dr. Béziat and his team currently focus on the human genetics of severe mucocutaneous oncovirus infections.
